1 Who We Are
CampusAssist is an independent student-built web application that provides a better interface for ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE) students and parents to view their academic data from the Student Information System (SIS). CampusAssist is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by IFHE or IBS.

2 What Data We Collect
SIS Credentials (Login ID & Password)
Your credentials are transmitted only in-transit through our CORS relay to SIS. They are never logged, stored, or retained on any server. The relay discards them immediately after use.
Academic Data (Attendance, Marks, Notices)
Academic data retrieved from SIS is stored only in your browser's localStorage (on your device). We do not store this data on our servers. It is deleted when you log out or clear your browser data.
User Preferences (Theme, Exam Dates, Study Progress)
App preferences you set (dark mode, exam countdowns, study progress) are stored locally in your browser and never transmitted to our servers.
Anonymous Usage Analytics
We may collect basic, anonymized usage metrics (page visits, error counts) through Cloudflare's built-in analytics. No personally identifiable information is collected at this level.
Feedback (Optional)
If you submit feedback via the portal, the text and (optionally) your roll number is stored to help us improve the app. You may submit anonymously.
3 How We Use Data
- To authenticate you with SIS and retrieve your academic information
- To display your attendance, marks, and notices in a mobile-friendly format
- To provide attendance predictions, CGPA tracking, and study tools
- To improve the app via anonymized analytics and optional feedback
- We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties
- We do NOT use your data for advertising profiling
- We do NOT store your SIS password anywhere
4 Data Storage & Security
All sensitive academic data resides exclusively on your device in browser localStorage. Our server-side infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers) acts only as a stateless CORS relay — it forwards your login request to SIS, receives the response, and returns it to your browser without logging request bodies.
We use HTTPS for all communications. The SIS backend operates over HTTP — we cannot change that — but the CampusAssist layer is fully encrypted.
5 Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Access: Know what data is held about you (all your data is in your browser — you can inspect it in DevTools → Application → localStorage)
- Erasure: Delete all your data instantly — use the Logout button (full wipe) or clear your browser's site data
- Correction: Your data comes directly from SIS — update it there, then re-sync
- Grievance: Contact surisetti.dev@gmail.com for any data-related concerns
6 Cookies
CampusAssist itself does not set tracking cookies. The SIS portal session cookies are managed by your browser in the context of the /sis-proxy path and are automatically cleared when you log out. We do not read or transmit these cookies to any third party.
7 Third-Party Services
- Cloudflare: Hosting & edge network — see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy
- Google Fonts / FontAwesome / jsDelivr CDN: Used for UI assets — may log your IP
- Google AdSense (optional): If ads are enabled, Google's privacy policy applies
8 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via a notice in the portal. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
